In the works...

I am trying something a little out of my comfort zone....a big doll or should I say tall. Don't want to hurt her feelings.
you see, I make my monsters and dolls small, anywhere from 2 inches, and the biggest, maybe 7 or 8 inches. So last night I started with my head, it is bigger than poor old Violet.
I have already run into some challenges I never experienced before...she almost was too big for my oven. I had to put her on the bottom rack. this is new. lol

she, at this point has a Elvis expression going on...hope paint makes a difference or I may be calling her the king and putting her in a white jumpsuit.

I have another doll in the works to go along with the story that I have going on in my head...so I am going to try and paint her today and maybe dress her, it's cold here in Buffalo!

I'm curious to see how you like working 'larger'. When I started sculpting my pieces were 14" to 21" tall and then several years ago I decided to go
smaller (so much easier to ship!).

I also found a lot of challenges working small, as it was so out of my comfort zone. I love it now though and only rarely
do pieces that are larger for private orders.

Nicole, this looks SO interesting, can't wait to see just what this story is
that has developed in your
fertile imagination!

I started out big as well, then went small... now I do whatever happens to go with the head I create. Not always easy :) Right now Im working on a 20" - 21" Goblin. Cant wait to get him done.

cant wait to see this one finished, looking great so far :)

I'm actually diggin the Elvis mouth (is it ok if I secretly wish that painting doesn't make a big difference?!?) & can't wait to hear about your adventure in up-sizing. :)
