Love your monsters! We celebrate Halloween by decorating our porch as spooky as we can make it. The kids go trick or treating with Dad while I give out candy to the kids in the neighborhood. I make sure to buy the big candy bars because the kids in the neighborhood don't always get that stuff and they really enjoy it. It is always fun to see their eyes widen when they see the candy. After, we sit down with our kids and everybody makes a pile with their candy and let the trading begin! - kriss.k@hotmail.com

Your creations are some of my favorite floating around the internet. I would love to win another critter to match my zombie :). I celebrate Halloween all month long by going to pumpkin patches, wearing lots of orange, going to haunted houses and of course eating the "good" halloween candy. On Halloween, I always dress up and go somewhere.

We celebrate Halloween for almost a month before....starting with a bunch of decorations outside and inside...everyone in the neighborhood waits to see what we will be putting up! On Halloween we give out candy and celebrate my Dad's Birthday. My Grandmother always said that he was dropped off on a fencepost by a witch...Lots of fun! Dee dlurwiller@charter.net

Awww! I always wanted one of your monsters to keep next to me on my desk! Thanks for the chance of winning one! :-)
This year I will simply celebrate Halloween by wearing my Witch costume (wish I could wear it more often!) and handing candies to the little treat or treaters passing by here.

Happy Halloween!

I'm a loyal blog follower and huge fan of your art. When my kids were smaller I used to go all out decorating the porch, making costumes, painting their faces. Now that they are grown I've turned my attention to the front yard and decorate with fun things for the little ones cause I don't want them to be scared. I also buy the popular candy so kids remember me from year to year and always come back and I get to see them grow from year to year.

A chance to win a mealy monster? I'm in!

on the Saturday before we have a scary dinner. This year it's smoked witches ribs, spicy gargoyle wings with moldy cheese, gut boats, buttered blood clots, green salad and eye ball cake for dessert. The guests are bringing scary appetizers- we will provide the man toes and lady fingers (with dipping toe jam)

Then on Halloween we dress less scary to hand out candy and pennies while we watch scary movies on TV and drink red warlock blood.

That's what happens when all the kids move out of the house and two old people are alone...mmwahahahAHAHAHHA

I celebrate Halloween by decorating my cube at work (you can see it here: www.ninaoriginals.blogspot.com). I also schedule an annual Halloween Art Doll Play Day at my home which is 10/30 this year. My artist friends & I make Halloween art & enjoy good food & company - the perfect way to celebrate Halloween. I'd love to add one of your Mealy Monsters to next year's decorations & celebrations.

to be frank it's the best feast of the year for me :) that's why i bake bat shaped cookies that day, and happy like a dark fairy offer them to my friends :) and as this day is the eve of all hollows, in the evening we visit cemetery, where you can already find lots of lighted candles on the graves ( it is the custom here to visit the grave of relatives that already rest in peace, and leave some flowers and lighting candle).. mysterious, spooky and breath taking emotions take place then, when you see so many lights in a place where all are dead, it's like the day, when those, who have already gone, come back, just for few hours while the candle lights :))

Hey Nicole! Great giveaway! My kids are still kind of young so we celebrate Halloween by going to haunted houses, haunted hayrides and the like. Then on Halloween, I walk with my kids around our neighborhood to trick or treat. Next year will be different! Come hell or high water, I'm spookifying my house and scaring the bageesus out of some people! lol

I spend Halloween confiscating all the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups!!!!

That part is true but I really love this holiday it is by far my favorite. I dress up ever year and my kids love that! We go out trick or treating until we can't stand up any more. Not really for the candy but more so to see all the cool costumes and the scary decorations!!

Now I will make a small prayer that that the random number generator picks me!! Ok Done!
Thanks for this opportunity..

Hi, I love your monsters!!! Nice of you to do a give away! We don't celebrate Halloween yet. Here, in our part of Germany it is something for youngsters. They have Halloween parties. The little children celebrate St. Martin. In our (nature) Kindergarten very special. We go into the dark woods with lanterns. We sing songs and at the end every child gets a bread goose.
Love, Mattie (filz10a)

Halloween start in August for me. That's when my grandchildren decide who they want to be for Halloween, so I have time to make their costumes. This year I made Cleopatra and Marie Anoinette. My grandson always wants a bought Star Wars of Ninja. Then the first for the month I decorate the house and the outsice, too. On Halloween night I trick or treat with my grandchildren. We live in a small town and alway have a hayride. They invite their friends and we go from house to house trick or treating. It is a tradition with our family and we love it.

Great monsters and a fun blog. We live out in the country with no trick-or-treaters. So I go into town to visit a long-time friend. We dress up, have a glass of wine, enjoy a fire on the porch, and await the wee ones in their costumes.

Flora said...

Oh let's see,we do the exact same thing for Halloween that we do for Christmas, except for the presents, well I do have a tradition of making Holiday baskets,I use a container that co-ordinates with each costume and fill it with allsorts of goodies and trinkets and books then add colored tissues and a card with a balloon or ribbon. My grandies and son open it prior to going Trick or Treating, then use the bag for the nights treating.

Love your brilliant monster creations!
Halloween around here? I put out a scarecrow on a bench on the front porch. He has a big brown grocery bag head with a simple face drawn on with a sharpie. On Halloween night my husband dresses in the scarecrow's clothes with the same bag over his head. He sits quiet and still, then as the kids come close, he jumps up and scares the doo doo out of them.

Oooooh, what a generous offer!!

Wow, Halloween is a month-long affair at my house!
The first day of October I take out all of the ornaments, haunted houses, Halloween Dolls and various other and spend the first week finding the proper spot for them, as well as trolling the farmer's markets for the right pumpkins!

Throughout the month there are Halloween dinners (oft-times featureing homemade sweet potato pie!) and card sending, and party hopping...

All of this is topped off by the annual Village Halloween Parade in the city! Here you dress up, and bring the camera as the whole downtown NYC becomes a spectacle of watching people running around the streets in costume! Woohooo :)

Love your critters! They have such personality! There can never be enough days in October for me to celebrate the season. Pumpkins, corn mazes, haunted houses, hay rides, decorating, creepy crafts, scary movies...I love it all. This year we will have a small party with some friends. Not many TOTers where I live. I do miss them. But this should be fun too. Happy Halloween!

I celebrate Halloween by putting pumpkins all through the house and they light up too. My children have to have a pumpkin night light for there room. I always have to display all of my Halloween spooky treasures and a flying witch.

We don't celebrate Halloween in our home; but we do love to carve pumpkins, roast the seeds, eat candy, and watch old, classic monster movies like "The Blob", or "Creature from the Black Lagoon"!

Instead our family has made the decision to donate the money we would spend on Halloween costumes and decorations to a local family homeless shelter.

I know, I know. This isn't a traditional way to celebrate Halloween; but, I would still hope I win the Mealy Monster give away!

I'd love to have one of you mealy monster creations!

I like to celebrate Halloween by watching The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and The Shinning. To of my favorites! If I time sometimes I make fun Halloween cupcakes!

I have been following your wonderful monsters for a while now & it would be awsome to win one! For Halloween this year, I will be trick or treating with the kids. I wish I could decorate outside more, but living in an apartment, that is not wise ( the first time all my decorations were either stolen or smashed to bits)!

I would love to win one of your great monsters! I went to get out teh Halloween decorations this year, and found we have just 3! We had to leave behind so much in our move, I don't have much for Halloween this year. But we alwasy get pumpkins and carve those, put candles in them and enjoy their errie glows until they rot. And my kids, now too old to trick-or-treat, still want the toasted punkin seeds to munch on. They would love one of your creepy firends to become one of our Halloween decorations too.

We celebrate Halloween by decorating our home with pumpkins spiders, ghosts, witches, and creepy portraits and paintings (we do this early in october). We use a lot of candles, and watch "scary" movies (my kids are only 5 and 3). Trick or Treating are not something kids around here do (Halloween celebrating are quite new here in Norway), but my kids always dress up and play in their costumes all day. Since my husbands birthday is the day before Halloween, we always have a lot of yummy food and cake too. My kids have already chosen their costumes, my oldest wanted to be a wicked queen, and my youngest wanted to be a spidergirl (witchy kind of costume)this year :)

Now that I don't have kids at home I don't do much..
But I put a pumpkin on stoop.
Walk around in the leaves and listen to hoot owls..looking at the moon and enjoying the big spiders..

But the main thing I did this year was made a doll for the Christmas Nightmare..which is a Halloween thing to do!

Love your little monsters..

Those are really cool...as is everything else in your shop. I'm amazed really.
Halloween has always been my favorite time of year until last year when my brother died. So now it's celebrating Halloween and honoring his memory. Depressing yes, but I still try to keep it happy. We carved our pumpkins, went to a farm to do a corn maze and everything else and on Halloween we'll be making a trip to my hometown to take my son trick or treating. And you can't forget lots and lots of scary movies.

Awww...lil confused monster is so cute!!!

I'm Australian, and halloween isn't a big thing out here - so, we don't celebrate it. The only thing halloweeney (is that a word?) that I've done is eat some candy corn - there's a candy store that sells American candy, and they had a bag of candy corn for $8 - and it wasn't even a big amount either!! Luckily, I didn't have to buy it - a friend of mine bought it because he'd never tried it before (nor did he know what it was!!) - so, of course, I had to educate him on American candy! :P

We celebrate Halloween by having a pumpkin carving contest in our house. Myself and youngest are a team, and my oldest and husband. We know the winner this year as my oldest is off working on the boats and wont be home for halloween and My husband just isnt that good, lol.

We have a small (3' high) door on our roadside that is an entrance to a tunnel under our yard. It leads to the dirt basement in our 200 year old house. On the door is a sign that says "Troll House." The Troll of Storrs lives in our basement, and has for hundreds of years. He goes out from time to time, to collect gold Troll treasure from all over the world. On Halloween night, for two hours only, he welcomes visitors to his tunnel, giving them the gold coins and bars that he worked so hard to collect all year long. We live in a small town, and most people know that ours is the Troll House. Last year the Troll saw over 180 visitors. Who knows how many will visit tomorrow night? I was lucky enough to snap his picture one time, but he is very shy and is never seen, except for on Halloween night.
